Reply with your name, what you prefer to be called, and recommend a well-written TV show that we are all missing out on.

I’m Jeff Salbato (your teacher), but I prefer Jeff. You only need to introduce yourself in one of these sub-topics, but, because I’m the supposed leader here, I’ll post in all of them…

TV shows you’re missing: Rectify, Silicon Valley, Newsroom, Happy Endings, Ted Lasso, Masterchef Australia, and the best show of all time: West Wing.

          Shang Duong

Hi, my name is Shang Duong. I got a lot more into movies and TV shows about a year ago from today, and it’s honestly all I want to talk about. Some of the things I was able to accomplish in a year were watching all the Avengers movies in chronological order (including the shows), and I’m pretty close to finishing them. I believe I am halfway through all of StarWars chronologically (I’ve never seen it before), but I will say it’s very confusing for me, but very helpful because I have a partner who’s an absolute geek and movie/show nerd!

Some TV shows you’re missing out on are:
Breaking Bad (Started and finished last month), Better Call Saul (Just finished Season 1), Fleabag (One of the best comedies), Abbott Elementary (Also comedy), and Demon Slayer (well-animated anime series).
If you ever wanted more recommendations, I would love to ramble on and on.

I keep long, sortable lists of all the shows I plan to watch. I can’t wait to start watching “Abbott Elementary”; I just have this weird quirk where I don’t start watching a show until it’s a few years along so that I am not constantly waiting for new seasons. But I’ll start watching it soon.

“Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” are well-known and great, but “Fleabag” is a great show that many might have missed.

Let me see, based on your list I think you would like a few of these older, well-written but dramatic shows: “Rectify”, “Dexter”, “The Walking Dead”, “Ozarks”.

                  Romeo Rodriguez

Hi Shang I am currently watching The Avengers in order as well but my favorites are Iron man and Spiderman. My girlfriend started watching Abbott and I caught most of the latest season and it was so good Ill have to watch the whole thing!

                    Romeo Rodriguez

Ok, hi my name is Romeo. I would say one of my biggest hobbies is watching tv and movies. I know that everyone has their own taste in television so if i were to recommend a well written Tv show I honestly don’t know what I would say. If you’re open to it I have plenty of anime recommendations. But specifically “well written” I would say “Your lie in April”, “Haikyuu!!”, and “Hunter X Hunter” are great and if you’re ready for a long one watch “Naruto” and this last one isn’t anime but, it is a cartoon: “Steven Universe”. Current watches right now are “One Piece” and “Babby daddy”. Thank you, even if you just look up one of these cool I sincerely recommend them all.

                      Mary Solberg

Hello! My name is Mary and I go by Mary. I love TV shows but my problem is that once I start a show I can’t stop watching it until I finish the entire series. This has always been a problem for me because my short term addiction to these shows prevent me from doing literally anything else. A lot of the TV shows that I like to watch are Japanese. If you thought K-dramas were corny and painfully predictable, J-dramas are pretty bad as well. Nevertheless, some J-dramas that I wish I could watch for the first time again are “Meet Me After School” and “First Love”. In addition, I have always been obsessed with “Breaking Bad” and love the anime “Death Note”

                        Tegan

Hi my name is Tegan (pronounced like Megan with a T), and some shows I believe some people are missing out on are:
                          The Good Place, a comedy about the afterlife with incredible humor and a surprising plot twist;
Community, a comedy about a group of odd friends in community college; and
Life in Pieces, a comedy about a big family split into each separate households different perspectives.
As you can see, I only really like comedy but these shows have a deeper message to them that is well thought and shown through the series.

                              Tegan,
Wow, I’ve never heard of “Life in Pieces”, but it’s rated well. My wife only watches comedies, so we’re always looking for a new one. Thanks.

FYI: In my “intro” class we are reading the essay that inspired the plot of “The Good Place”: Sartre’s “No Exit”. Email me if you want me to send it to you.
