Reply with your name, what you prefer to be called, and recommend a well-written TV show that we are all missing out on.

I’m Jeff Salbato (your teacher), but I prefer Jeff. You only need to introduce yourself in one of these sub-topics, but, because I’m the supposed leader here, I’ll post in all of them…

TV shows you’re missing: Rectify, Silicon Valley, Newsroom, Happy Endings, Ted Lasso, Masterchef Australia, and the best show of all time: West Wing.

          Kamiryn Garner

Hi my name is Kamiryn Garner but I prefer to go by Kami. A show that I have been watching recently that I think people are missing out on is the Pitt. I think that this is one of the most medically accurate shows that I have watched. It also has a really cool format of the entire season being one shift and each episode is an hour in the shift. It is on HBO max for anyone who would like to try it.

                Kami,
Yes. I already have “The Pitt” on my watchlist. It looks phenomenal. I am just waiting for it to get started on the second season before I begin so I don’t have to wait too long for more episodes.
                Thanks – Jeff

I’ll have to contain my impatience to sit and watch this. Thank you.

                  Chris Archuleta

My name is Christopher Archuleta; I go by Chris. I don’t really watch tv or tv shows. I enjoy movies more. I guess if I were to mention a tv show of choice that I would recommend someone, would be Dragonball Z. From Dragonball all the way through Dragonball Super. A bit nerdy but I like it.

                          Hello everyone!

My name is Kendra Luna. I prefer to go by Kendra.
I have recently been watching Pluribus, and I would definitely recommend it. It is a dramatic, interesting series where most of the world’s population becomes a part of a hivemind.

                              Kendra,
Nice. Thanks. I had not heard of “Pluribus” but it sounds perfect, and it is reviewed well. I just put it on my watch list.

Hey everyone, my name is Ashlee Barela I go by Ashlee or Ash. I know a lot of people have probably already seen most of the Marvel movies but I suggest looking up the order on how to watch them. It makes so much more sense, and all the little details you didn’t realize you missed. I remember watching the first Avengers and being so confused onbhow and why they were all together and then I watched them all in order and it all made sense how the Avengers were put together.

                              Mr Ed

Please allow me to introduce myself I’m a man of wealth and Taste (lyrics, Rolling Stones – Sympathy For The Devil, 1968)

Most people call me Edward. Friends call me Mr. Ed, or Mr. T.
I work here at the Advanced Technical Center as a work-study student. My career, prior to enrolling at CNM, was as a construction accountant and project manager. I graduated from the University of Albuquerque back in the early 1980’s and have now returned to pursue an Associates in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Film Production.

I actually have experience working as a Technical Director for live television productions (Comcast Public Access Channels 26 & 27), own a small video production company (Mirage Studio of NM), and have completed 4 terms here at CNM (Even earning recognition on the Dean’s List in the Fall of 2024)!
Aside from school and work I enjoy cooking, especially around the holidays. Watching NFL football is a favorite pastime and I am a classic muscle car freak (I’ll show you mine if you show me yours).

But finally, I could never forget to mention my love of music. Mostly classic rock, blues, R&B, and soul. I could go on but to conclude I will say that I am looking forward to collaborating with you all and to be among the first students to graduate with a Film Production degree from the CNM Rail Yards. Good Luck!

                                Robert Duncan

                                  Hello everybody!

My name is Robert. I’ve been working in the film industry here in New Mexico for the past six years. I recently came back to CNM to finish my degree in Film Production now that the Opportunity Scholarship has opened up more opportunities for me. I live in Albuquerque with my wife and three cats. When I’m not working or going to school, I like to draw and work on film projects. We shot a short film last year that I’m really proud of, and it will be playing some festivals in 2026. I like to keep that creative side of my brain active and collaborate with friends who feel similarly.

A TV show that I recently fell in love with is The Chair Company on HBO Max. It’s a strange comedy about a guy who discovers a conspiracy after an embarrassing incident at work. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen on TV, and the weird characters and dialogue are pretty unforgettable. Definitely could be something that many would find off putting, but I found it to be hilarious and unique.

Looking forward to sharing this class with all of you!

                                  Thanks,
                                  Robert
