I’m Jeff Salbato (your teacher), but I prefer Jeff. You only need to introduce yourself in one of these sub-topics, but, because I’m the supposed leader here, I’ll post in all of them…

TV shows you’re missing: Rectify, Silicon Valley, Newsroom, Happy Endings, Ted Lasso, Taskmaster, Masterchef Australia, and the best show of all time: West Wing.

I absolutely love Gordon Ramsey shows and I don’t believe I’ve seen Masterchef Australia yet. I will definitely have to look for that one. I haven’t heard of any of the other shows you suggested so I will be looking those up as well. Thanks for the suggestions!

I love to watch Ted Lasso with my mom. It is such a funny and well written show!

Hi class, I’m Alexandra and I go by Alex. One of my favorite TV shows of all time is Dexter. It’s a series about a serial killer who only kills the bad guys and also works for the local homicide department as a blood spatter analyst. Each season has it’s own scenario to follow and it’s actually pretty funny while being suspenseful. The original 8 seasons are the best. I found that the spinoffs were not as fun to watch, although the continuation called Resurrection has been great so far. There is one season out and another supposedly coming out later this year.

Hey Alex! Dexter is one of my favorites! I definitely agree that the spinoffs weren’t as good as the original seasons!

                        Hi everyone,

My name is Cora Keckin but I prefer to go by Cora and my all time favorite TV show has to be Gilmore Girls. I feel like people are truly missing out on it and the story lines involved. I feel like we need to bring back 2000s, 8 seasons, 23 episodes per season, and 45min-1hr long episodes.

I love your name, btw. I’ve never seen Gilmore Girls but I’ve been wanting to start it, and I feel like fall is the perfect season to do so!

Hello, Cora. I agree with you, Gilmore Girls is a classic! I haven’t met many people who have watched it, but it is truly so enjoyable. Just a couple of girls with great humor. I haven’t watched it since I was a young teen but I should re-watch it now as an adult.

I love Gilmore Girls! It is one of my favorite “feel good” shows to watch. I am ready for Netflix to bring out another “Year in the Life” season. They left us hanging on that last episode.

Hello, I’m Melissa. If i would have to recommend a tv show it has to be the walking dead series. There are different spin offs but they are all connected in one way or another. If I was to recommend a movie it have to be “Memoirs of a Geisha.” It’s a beautiful story.

Honestly I have so many tv shows I would recommend. I love watching tv series and movies.

I remember being really into The Walking Dead when it first came out and only made it through the first couple of seasons. I am definitely going to have to start it over and finish the series, I have no idea how many seasons are even out now.

I love that you recommended The Walking Dead series! I am currently rewatching the series. When I was younger, I was the BIGGEST Daryl Dixon fan. My room was a shrine of Daryl and Negan. In my opinion, Daryl is one of the best characters. I would also recommend The Walking Dead to anyone who hasn’t seen it.

Hi Melissa! I’ve heard a lot of good things about The Walking Dead, especially since there are so many connected spin-offs. It sounds like you really enjoy getting into different TV series and movies. I haven’t watched Memoirs of a Geisha yet, but the way you described it makes me want to check it out. It’s always nice to find a good show or movie that keeps you interested. Thanks for sharing your recommendations!

One of my favorite shows was Nailed It on netflix the baking competition the host Nicole was very funny. I like The glades it was about a detective moving from chicago to florida it never finished they ended on a cliff hanger and never had another season. I liked Longmire it was really far from the books especially the characters but I still enjoyed it. Bosch on Prime was good Titus Weliver the lead I thought did a good job portraying the character. I just started to experience anime and I am really suprised how much I get into the stories, I liked Attack on Titan, No Guns Life, Phsyco-Pass, and Gundham The Origin, I think watching Gundham know digs up my memories of Voltron.

Hey Kyle! You have a really good mix of shows on your list. I’ve heard a lot about Longmire and Bosch, and I agree; it’s frustrating when a show ends on a cliffhanger and never gets another season. I also think it’s cool that you recently got into anime. Attack on Titan is definitely one that can pull you into the story. I can also see how watching Gundam would bring back memories of Voltron. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve tried getting into more baking shows after it, but it’s a little difficult. Still, that show was a really big part of my childhood and it’s cool that you mentioned that.

The show reminds me of The Office, but if they were vampires. The show fits my gothic aesthetic and humor. It aired in 2019, had 6 seasons, and was sadly discontinued in 2024.

So yeah watch them or don’t I guess.. bye.

It’s about a criminal mastermind that is obsessed with a brand new FBI agent. Throughout the entire show they keep the history behind their relationship secret and you slowly put together the pieces. James Spader brings the character to life so beautifully and it kept me obsessed with the show. Definitely recommend if you enjoy any “criminal minds” type of shows!

I’ve never seen Dexter, but a lot of people I know have all said it was a great show with great characters and stories! It’s between starting that, Sopranos, or Breaking Bad for me.

                                                                                • #66915 Reply

Hey, my name is Sterling, and I also go by Sterling. I wasn’t into TV shows as much for a while, but have watched more of them recently. But, if I could give a movie or TV show suggestion, I’d say Kill Bill Vol.1. I think it’s one of Quentin Tarantino’s best films, has ceaseless action, cool characters, a dope soundtrack, and is rooted with pop culture relevance. Some other favorite films that come to my head are Jaws, The Shining, American History X, Sinister, The Batman, etc.

                                                                                  • #66924 Reply

                                                                                      Hello!
My name is Casey. I absolutely love film, so I spend a lot of my free time watching film and random out there movies. But one film that I watched somewhat recently was “Lenny”, directed by Bob Fosse. It’s an incredible biopic from 1972 about the comedian Lenny Bruce. They really show who Lenny Bruce was, a pioneer in modern stand-up but a raging narcissist.

One of my current TV obsessions are the shows Interview with a Vampire, and The Vampire Lestat. They are based on books written by Anne Rice. I think the showrunners did a great job of bringing these books to life. If you enjoy horror and drama, you might also enjoy these shows. I look forward to learning with all of you!

I, for over the past year, have been obsessed with the tv show, The Middle. I always have it on repeat and it really soothes me. The show itself is about a dysfunctional and normal family in a town called Orson, Indiana. I relate a lot to the middle child, Sue, but all of them hold a dear place in my heart. If you just want a good laugh, a fun time, and a little slice of slightly overdramatized life this is a wonderful show to check out! You can find all nine seasons on Peacock.

I would recommend Suits. I like Suits because I think it teaches that shortcuts are nice in the short term but will have you watching your back forever.

My all time favorite movie is The Notebook can’t go wrong with it, I’ve seen it so many times yet I’ve cried each time. Another one I’d recommend is Crazy, stupid, love, or 10 things I hate about you, me before you, and voicemails for Isabelle.

One of my favorite TV shows is Animal Kingdom on Amazon Prime TV. I believe there are 6 seasons. It follows a criminal family of 4 brothers, and their nephew. The twists and turns that pop up are the craziest scenarios, even from the beginning of the first episode, season one. The character “Smurf” is the most scandalous of them all!! I hope you enjoy it as well as I did!

I must recommend Black Mirror, on Netflix. Though I haven’t seen every episode, the premise and writing are almost always fascinating. It feels like a modernized version of “The Twilight Zone”.
